“When we created our most advanced hard shell we wanted to change the way it feels to wear a shell. To achieve a feeling of full freedom of movement, we had to rethink the foundations of the design process. Instead of a traditional 2-dimensional pattern construction, we decided to drape the garment from a single piece of fabric on a body replicating the movements of mountaineering and freeride skiing. We call the technique Made to Move, and the product is Rollercoaster.” says Jesper Danielsson at Houdini Design Team.
This technique utilizes the fabric’s natural stretch to make sure that you will never feel restricted again. At the same time, many weak points from extra seams and tapings are eliminated. As with all Houdini shells, Rollercoaster is made from recycled polyester, so when you eventually wear it out, it can be recycled, over and over again. Rollercoaster is totally free from fluorocarbons.
The nitty gritty
Waterproof and breathable hard shell in Loop 3L Hardshell™ with fully sealed seams and water repellent zips. Helmet compatible hood with 2-way single-hand adjustment. Backpack compatible under arm ventilation zips. Snow gaiter for extra protection.
The pants feature stretch back panels and adjustable suspenders for full freedom of movement. Drop seat and 3/4 quarter long vent zips with placket at the back. The pockets are compatible with an alpine harness. Schoeller reinforcement and snow gaiter at lower leg.
